Terms of Service
1. Service Provider
MevaSearch News (news.mevasearch.com, the “Service”) is provided by Igor Oprządek (WebOrbiton Team), Bągart 14A, Poland.
E-mail: privacy[at]weborbiton.com
2. Description of the Service
The Service is a free news aggregator. It automatically collects publicly available RSS and Atom feeds from publishers and displays, for each article:
- the headline,
- a short excerpt (no more than a few sentences),
- a preview image, where the publisher provides one,
- a link to the full article on the publisher’s website.
Full articles are never copied or republished. To read an article, you go to the publisher’s website.
3. Using the Service
- The Service is free of charge and requires no account or registration.
- The agreement for the provision of the Service is concluded when you open the website and ends when you stop using it. You may stop using the Service at any time without giving a reason.
- Technical requirements: a device with internet access and an up-to-date web browser. JavaScript and cookies are optional and only needed for remembering your edition and colour theme.
4. Third-party Content
- Headlines, excerpts and images belong to their respective publishers and are protected by copyright. They are shown only to point readers to the original source.
- Publishers are solely responsible for the content of their articles. Showing an article does not mean that we endorse it or confirm that it is accurate.
- Articles are selected, deduplicated and assigned to categories automatically. Mistakes can happen, for example an article in the wrong category, an outdated time or a missing image.
- Articles marked as requiring a subscription may be fully readable only with paid access on the publisher’s website.
- Articles are kept for a limited time (currently about 72 hours) and then removed from the Service.
5. Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you must not:
- overload the Service with automated requests, or copy its content in bulk;
- use the image proxy for anything other than viewing the Service, or try to bypass its restrictions;
- attempt to break into, disrupt or test the security of the Service without our permission;
- use the Service in a way that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
6. Publishers
Our feed reader, WebAtlasNewsBot, is described on the crawler page. A publisher can ask at any time for its feed to be removed, for how often it is read to be changed, or for a specific article or image to be taken down. We handle such requests without undue delay, usually within 7 days.
7. Search
The search box sends your query to MevaSearch (mevasearch.com), a separate service with its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and Changes
We try to keep the Service available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, suspend or end the Service, its sources or its features at any time.
9. Liability
The Service is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the content of third-party articles and websites, for decisions made on the basis of information shown in the Service, or for temporary unavailability. This does not limit any liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor the statutory rights of consumers.
10. Complaints and Reports
Complaints about the Service, and reports of unlawful content or copyright infringement, can be sent to privacy[at]weborbiton.com. Please describe the issue and, where relevant, include a link to the article concerned. We reply within 14 days.
11. Privacy
The Service does not use accounts, analytics or tracking. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version and its date are always published on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
